Training Subsidy For Adoption Of BIM Software

Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and International Alliance for Interoperability (Singapore Chapter) (IAI(S)) are offering a training subsidy scheme to encourage firms to adopt Building Information Model (BIM) for their projects.

Training Subsidy

The training subsidy is capped at S$300 per trainee.

Criteria

The training subsidy applies to new BIM software purchased by firms that are registered in Singapore. In addition, the purchased software (Autodesk Revit Building Series) must be IFC 2x2 Code Checking View certified.

The training subsidy is applicable only when formal training on BIM is conducted by the solution provider and the training programme must include a module on using CORENET e-Plan check system for automatic plan checking.

Validity period

The training subsidy commences on 1 October 2006 ends on 30 September 2008. The training subsidy is also limited to the first 1000 trainees only.

Training Course Outline

The training consists shall consist of the following topics:

  • CAD v/s BIM (Introduction, Interface and Sketching)
  • Setting the Stage (Site, Site Boundaries, Orentation, Offsets)
  • Conceptualization (Massing, Building Maker)
  • Systems Elements (Walls, Floors, Ceilings and Roofs
  • Elements (Doors, Openings, Windows, Stairs and Railings)
  • Design Constraints (Levels, Grids, Reference Planes)
  • Organising Design Information (Components, Category, Subcategory, Groups)
  • Detailing (Symbols, Tags, Drafting and Line Work, CP-83)
  • Representation (Views, Visibilities, Schedules and Sheets)
  • Families and Nested Families (Annotation, Title Block and French Window)
  • Presentation (Rendering and Walkthrough)
  • E-PlanCheck Drafting Guidelines Training
