| RPC Type | Description | | 2D | 2D Static Content consists of single images from a single viewing angle stored in the .rpc file format. These RPC content files are perfect for still renderings. This content may not be suitable for animations. | | 2.5D | 2.5D Motion Content consists of multiple images from a single viewing angle stored in the .rpc file format. These RPC content files allow animators to add dozens of animated stand-ins to their scenes.
The number indicated on the preview image for each piece of content indicates the total number of images included in the file. For example,a 600 image RPC would cover 20 seconds of animation at 30 frames/sec.
Motion content is not supported in 3D Studio VIZ 2. | | 3D | 3D Static Content (viewable from 360 degrees) consists of multiple images from a 360 degree viewing angle around the object. These RPC content files allow animators to create the perception of 3D objects within their still renderings and animated scenes. | | 3.5D | 3.5D Motion Content (viewable from 360 degrees around the Z axis) consists of multiple images from a 360 degree viewing angle around the object. These RPC content files allow animators to add dozens of moving objects to their scenes, viewable from 360 degrees around each object. | | 3D+ | 3D+ Content (viewable from any angle) consists of view dependent and/or statically textured image data applied to an underlying 3D geometry hull. Because of the underlying geometry, these RPC content files allow animators to view from any angle. The underlying geometric hull also allows these objects to cast great shadows!
Not all applications currently support 3D+ RPC content.
